I’m organising a trip to Oxford to see the Ashmolean museum and the Pitt Rivers museum.

I have access to big comfy cars (Citroen XM) and have space for 3 people. We’d drive to the Thornhill Park & Ride off the M40 and then get in to Oxford on the bus. You could go off and do your own thing if you like, and we could stay as late as the last bus if need be. I can collect you and drop you off at your door. I’m flexible and could do any weekday in the Easter Holidays. I estimate the fuel cost to be £35, so everyone would need to contribute £7, and the cost of the Park & Ride is £2.50. Admission to both museums is FREE! Oxford and two museums for less than a tenner J If you’re interested please put your name down below. Charlotte (H)

  1. I visited the Pitt Rivers and the adjoining Natural History Museum earlier this year - it is amazing!
The Ashmolean is also a wonderful museum. It incorporated John Tradescant's cabinet of curiosities (there is a great chapter on this in Iain Sinclair's book 'Lights Out for the Territory').
Also at Oxford there is the Museum of the History of Science (also free, but not open on Mondays) - which I have not yet visited - I hear it is amazing - see http://www.mhs.ox.ac.uk/
